Hello,
I am looking for a kid´s windsurf board and rigg, does anybody know, where to get that? We are heading to Hatteras this fall and my son wants to try it now...
Thanks for any help
Petra

here on my website smugmug pages are several pics of Aerotech's FUTURE kid's rig. Cost-to-quality ratio, it's 'da bomb. Sailworks has a good one too, but much higher $$. http://www.whitecap.smugmug.com/gallery/1738841#85981039
If your child is 55-75 lbs, I may have a board (Starboard Kiddy) for sale. It's not good if they've never windsurfed before if they are at the heavier end of that range, but if they've had any experience, it's quite good. My son used it at Hatteras when he was 10. Email me if you are interested.
Yes, even I've sailed it. It's not floaty under an adult - about 80 liters - but wide (iirc about 80cm) and short, so easy to tack and jibe.
Do not try to teach him/her on an adult rig if they are under 100-95 lbs. Kids just don't have the leverage and strength to get even a small rig out of the water. When my son was 90 lbs, a 4.3 felt big to him. In the picture above, he's on a 2.7.
Ezzy makes what looks like a very kid friendly rig. Although these rigs don't look like the adult stuff, they appear to be very light and you get 2 sails with the package. I like the open luff sleeve, should make it easy to up-haul since water will not fill the sleeve.
