I foolishly consented to put together some kind of "presentation" one night next week for the older (overnight) sailing camp kids at LLSC-- maybe just a cool video with head-banging music and a how-to primer with some Q&A.

Gene, of Windsense infamy, has kindly consented to loan an appropriate board for kids to mess around on. What I don't have is a kid's rig (or 2) for kids in the 60-100 lb range. If you have a loaner, or maybe something I could buy, that would be really swell. It's a very good cause.

These kids are bright and energetic little weasels and I'd love to hook a few of them on REAL sailing speed. They spend the week learning and training in Optimist Dinghys or 420s or Lasers. For the older ones particularly, it's all very race oriented and they are very focused on getting those tubby little boats to go from 5 knots to 5.25 knots, etc.

Going 20-30 knots under sail is something few of them have seen up close. So, if we get any wind (I did heard the 'f' word in the forecast today) or you have the stuff to rage in moderate wind, please come on over and show off a little. They would love it.
