and just noticed this the other day - a serial number on the logo.
Actually, I have two North sails and never noticed it on either one. You may know the sails - the white 5.4 (thanks, Alan) and purple and white 4.7. Between the two, I probably use them 40 times a year. I'll probably be lousy as a witness if there's a crime committed near me.
Cops: Did you see the ten man criminal gang sneaking the elephant out of the restaurant when you were there?
Me: There was an elephant in the room? (Yeah, leaning on that old cliche. )

You definitely got your money’s worth out of them.
I probably wouldn’t have noticed the s/n either if North/Duotone wasn’t offering to extended to 3yr warranties if you registered them.
Alan
I must be dense, but unless you are saying it was a 2011 sail I'm missing the point. (I never miss an opportunity to miss a point.)
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
So Im just ask'n - why is the SN on the logo noteworthy? Or maybe you are just saying you are surprised you never noticed it in 3 years?
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Surprised that I never noticed it especially as it's on the Starboard side ie facing up rigging or rolling up the sail.
Obviously not as big as an elephant, literally license and all, but amusing to me.
I don't know for your area, but here it is worth noting any SN : gear sometime vanish... SN help it to reappear. It happend to a Black bird board of a friend recently.
And any time I buy used gear, I try to get some information on where it was bought in the first place. SN helps.
