How to prepare for sailing in the cold

A discussion between 2 guys who just got off the water in a 20-30kt 7C (~45) day. The key is preparing before you sail. Please someone try this and let me know how it works. BTW - top speed of cam sail 65kph, top speed no cam 61kph or ~2.4 mph difference (though as they point out comparing top speeds of 2 different riders is not very meaningful.)

Totally missed that part of his video. Thought you were talking about the dish glove thing for the longest time from the parallel video. A big no on their prep for me. I may be missing out but I'm willing to take that risk.

I think the point of the cam vs less/no cam is that idiots like me wanting to move up a few places at OBX Windfest can do it without the hassle of a big luff sleeve and lots of cams. Lol

Re: How to prepare for sailing in the cold

I thought we busted the dishwasher glove myth a long time ago. I do admit, however, I have worn medical gloves under my open palm neoprene mitts from time to time - they usually give out. I probably wouln't have even watched the Cam v. No Cam vid but I was sucked in by the title. (A more appropriate title would have been "2 Guys sail fast on a cold lake.") Really seemed to have little to do with cam v. no cam, but I guess the title page was clever because it played into nostalgia over the debate from about 20 years ago when people cared enohgh about it to argue the point.
