??? Looks like alot of people are going to Gaults, anybody heading to Lanier? At 8 am, it was East 15 gusting to 23 in Gainesville but only 7 in Atlanta. I've called the Gainesville airport several times this morning, got 13G20, and 13G18. The forecast direction is ENE which is good at Van's Tavern but also sailable at Van Pugh. So, is anybody going to Lanier? what time and where? ???

Gene,
Why don't you come to Galt's? It'd be worth it just for the nostalgia. You used to be one of the Allatoona crowd. Heck, there's even a Golden Corral not too far away. :)

A group is going on Lanier, at VAN PUGH, JOe O, Barrett W, Tim C, Larry Nicholes (yes I said Larry), and Me. It looks like it is still blowing as of 10:43. Anyone interested, come on out , that's VAN PUGH. We may even sail up to Van's Tavern to see who's there.
As far as sailing Gaults, that would be fun, and east is a great direction and smooth water, but I think I'll pass on the baby pool, (just kidding, it's a great place to work on jibes.) As far as eating places near Gaults, dont forget the Oyster King on 41, great fried Oysters and pitchers of beer.

We had about the same wind as Bill H reported they had at Gaults, not as much wind as we hoped for but still fun and pertty warm. I ran my 7.0 sail on my 134 ltr board, but should have rigged up to 8.5. Most of us sailed all day and as far as I know, Michelle (Voltar) Cooper may still be out there now.
Thinking about maybe going this morning, Sat am?
