Help Need Advise!!!

Hey guys, Thomas here only a few of you have met me. I am off to Bonaire on saturday. I am going alone and will be going to the windsurfing camp.
The concerne I have is about my stuff Wallet Phone etc while I am sailing. Should I cram it all in a fanny pack or camelback or is there a better option?
This is the first time doing somthing like this any input would be great.

Find a safe somewhere to use and only take what you need for that day.
like $20

When Drew and I were down there we used a back pack with a cable and lock. Locked the back pack to the cable and then the cable to the post, or chair or some solid object.

The trunk of you car is probably ok while at Jibe City, as long as it is out of view. It's those off the beaten path places that are the real problem.

Be sure to ride the BloCarts - they're a blast.

Thanks! One more.

How necessary is it to have money changed before I go down? I have heard Dollars and Credit cards are widely accepted.

Thanks,
Thomas

No need to exchange money. It's actually a pretty safe island, but you should take some precautions. Like David said, we would usually leave the wallet and cash in the hotel room safe and only carry the cash you thought you would need. Leave the car unlocked with windows down so nobody thinks there is something worth breaking in to get. Phone doesn't work on the island so I wouldn't take it (although you can rent one for the week with USA minutes available). Take some waterski gloves to help avoid blisters!!!

Thanks

Thanks for the input. For some reason I forgot about the car. we will see if the room has a safe.

Either I will be sick of sailing after this or I will see you guys at VP more often in the future! I expect the second

What are you talking about, " Sick of sailing "? Bonaire is the best, easiest and fun place I have ever sailed when the wind blows.

Wave to the beach cam Thomas (it's great that they cleaned the lens or housing on the camera, but get them to move that freakin' palm frond). Hope you're having fun!

Guess What happened!

I left atnalta saturday night expecting to have almost 2 hours of layover in houston to catch the Bonaire flight. That is when murphy struck. we got delayed ultimately I missed the BON flight by 10 min. I was not able to find a way to BON after that. needless to say I am at work this week.
Kontiki is willing to slide my reservations a couple of weeks Continental gave me a voucher for my trip. and I am waiting to hear somthing about the camp I signed up for.
It was an interesting experience. I am now ready to do it right. I will check into the palm frond it bothers me as well!

Thanks for you input guys.
