Hatteras - Week 2 Report

Saturday - Checked out of the house in Rodanthee, Checked out the shops in Avon, kind of disappointing, and checked in at Nags Head in Barrett's (Ron's) house. No wind forecasted, and they nailed it.

Sunday - Nothing, I actually P-ed (SUPed) on the Kona.

Monday - Forecast was for not much but Wind came up and we ran 6.0s in the afternoon. Only 3 of us on the whole sound and 2 of us almost had a head-on, and I tweaked my knee, not too bad though.

Tuesday and Wednesday - more 6.0s.

Thursday - It was 6.0 early in the morning, which I missed, but I did have a nice 7.5 session. Around lunch, Eric and I sailed over to Manteo, then on the way back, the wind shifted to more off shore and lightened up and it took us awhile to get back. 5 or 10 minutes to get there, 1 hour to get back.

Friday - I went back down to Rodanthee and kited on the 12 meter with the guys from Boston, Gary & Pip. Barrett and the guys had another good day at Nags Head, running 6.0s.

And now I'm back home, 9.5 hour drive from Nags head to Flowery Branch.

Most excellent Trip!, Both Weeks, Good Wind!, Good Friends and Good Food. In 14 days, only 2 no wind days, had a 4.5 day AND a 3.7 day, and Kited some. LOVE THIS PLACE!

Also, Thanks Big Al and Paula (week 1) and Ron, Barrett and Peggy (week 2) for all the hard work putting together the Trips.
