Perfect day at my pavement paradise. Temps in the 30's, rain in the forecast took the morning off, and lots of wind. All of the above limited the non-essential personnel to a minimum.* So time to do some buggy riding. Aside from just fun stuffI worked on tacks (which are easy on windsurfers, but not so much with kite power - even Kainani says they are hard). With a little work my tacks will be as bad as my jibes. BTW - you will see a few times when a tack is way to recover from a blown jibe. I have plenty of those to work with.
Tacky video
Long and probably boring to anyone else video.
*There was the guy with metal detector, a couple getting to know each other better, a guy sleeping in his car, and a few dog walkers over the time I was there, but they all kept clear of the parking lots most of the time.

Yet another trip to pavement paradise today. This was dawn patrol for real. I arrived a few minutes before sunrise. Unfortunately I didn't actually see the sunrise due to mist and clouds. But some people in my house wanted a ride to the airport at 5 am - so I was already up. Eventually I got two kites wet and gave up around 11. As for the wind - pretty much as reported - 10ish. Sort of the thrift store version of last Sunday's winds. While riding I kept pondering questions like are these foiling winds or flogging winds? What if the Lone Ranger had a kite buggy?
