I hope to sail Van Pugh tomorrow (Friday.)

I went by VP this afternoon, 3:30, a few caps, misting and 45 degrees. Hopefully Friday will be alot better.

I haven't heard form Big Al or Pip but I'm sure they're excited. Big Al (and Paula) are big skiers, and Pip is into snowmobiles. I guess you could have too much snow like too much wind? but not often.

Gene, you should probably bring the speed prize out tomorrow ... I'd be glad to split it with the other guys... :roll:

24 inches of Snow predicted for Boston, which means they'll probably get 5 to 10 inches.

Any minute now. When you have to stare at the tops of the trees for awhile to see if it's blowing, it's probably not. But.... any minute now.

Gene, CNN said they were closing the schools. Sheesh, two feet of snow predicted and everything comes to a halt. For all their smack about how we can't drive in the snow.

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement. If I knew how to gybe I would indeed be careful while performing the maueuver (what the MUCK is a laydown).

As some have noted, I typically make my turns using a technique I call the 'flopping tack.' It involves a lunge from windward side of the board to the leeward side. If the timing is correct the lunge carries through to the ice water.

Next post will detail my 'up and over' waterstart that is the 'crescendo' to my 'flopping tack.'

With all the banter I take it the wind wasn't as as good as predicted... at least I now won't have to start the weekend knowing I missed a good session.

Chris P and I tried it yesterday (Fri,) sailing not laydowns but without success. About 3:30 it looked like it was coming up, but NOT. Neither one of us planed. I think Randy did a little better on the the other side of the lake.

Maybe tomorrow, Sunday.

While others were talkin trash I would out sailing. I win again as shown from my Firday GPS. If this was run by the rules in NACAR, F1 or any real racing series I would be champ since they also give points for being consistantly fast, not just fast one day a month. Since I don't drink beer I guess it doesn't matter.
