Foil Repair Product

This has been on Seabreeze, but haven't seen it posted here. Seems like it is worth a try. I was happy to hear, however, that scratches don't really impact performance much, My foil wing has gotten pretty ugly so might be worth a try.

Re: Foil Repair Product

Neat stuff, Randy. Depends on the finish of the wing, though. (I'm with Mark_oz on this one.) Cosmetically, looks like this will get you on the water.

Other options
Sandable black auto primer spray like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-12-oz-Black-Sandable-Primer-Spray-249418/202097279

This stuff is more expensive but it's a filler/primer so more easily fills deeper scratches: https://www.amazon.com/VHT-SP305-ESP305007-Sandable-Primer/dp/B000CPAVCK/ use multiple coats for deeper gouges.

For clear coats - just use a gloss clear enamel. Dries quickly

For anything really deep or dings in the leading edge, etc, either graphite or proper black epoxy pigment/tint in an epoxy/glass microballon "bog". Apply with the tip of a wooden kebab skewer.

Use lots of masking tape so you don't overspray and end up having to sand the whole wing. Use proper wet/dry sand paper (not the cheap stuff or purple stuff from HD) 200-400-600 and finish at 800/1000. Water should not bead on the wing but coat it evenly. If it beads, it will be much more prone to ventilation. Do NOT sand by hand like he is. You'll be sanding under your finger tips but not elsewhere. Use either a very small wooden block or very small flexible pad. Sand with the flow of the water is the advice I've seen most often.

Source - manic about my wings and masts.

Someone who is more manic than I am

Might as well link the original Seabreeze thread so that everyone will know what were are talking about.
