Since there has been some good interest in a Florida road trip then I will propose a couple of dates. Given that we have two dates as options then we will probably be able to plan around some wind coming in.

Proposed Dates:

January 13 or 14 and return on Sunday

OR

January 27 or 28 and return on Sunday

We watch the weather for these dates and go either to Meritt Island on the east coast or to Fred Howard/Desoto Park-Tampa on the west coast.

With these options we should be able to catch some nice temperatures and some wind.

It's been a mighty long time since our last Road Trip!

I thought about Jekyll and Cape San Blas but more than likely the air and water temperatures will not be as nearly as good.

Travel time by car to either Meritt Island or Fred Howard is the same at 7 hours. Gas is cheap and oil is going to $25 a barrel.
