Fall Classic art now in the foto gallery. Thanks to Windsense, Whitecap, Aerotech, Ezzy we will be giving away some swell door prizes. Sweetwater Brewing is helping us out again too. Registrations are pouring in-- 5 have poured in so far. I see today that the weather is getting itself together also with 3 cold fronts on the U.S. map.
Gregg Cattanach, Atl
Pat Nugent, Palm Bay, FL
William O. Herderich, Atl
Joe Quigley, Indianpolis
Randy "Serenity Now" Falkenberg, Sandy Springs
Mississippi Steve Harrington
Chris "CodeFlagDelta" Voith, Sandy Sprangs
Dan Burch, Atl
Pam "Madam Past Commodore" Barron, Duluth, GA
The Lost Boys of Charleston (Dave, Dan & Mac)
(They are bringing the demo Serenity too)*
Others rumored to maybe show:
Scott "Shred Dog" Spreen
Bobby "Bouchet" Nabors, (Liquid Surf & Sail)
Kelvin "I-was-at-the-first-one" Osburn, Berkley Lake
Robert Staunton Naish, Maui
Gene "Yea, I-might-go-leaf-watchin-too" McCarren, Tampa
If there is enough interest, we can also do a workshop/how-to (on shore) Friday night and have a separate start and easy course for anybody that just wants to try the racing thing.
Also, all are welcome to come sail, hang out, sell your used gear, campout, etc even if you have no interest in racing.
Put Kevin O. in the registered column. He's going to try and make it interesting by sailing Reggie's Div. II board, hard to beat if it's light and maybe in a breeze too-- we'll see.
Fred Dey, fresh from Olympic Trials Measurer duty, is trying to arrange to help on our Race Committee also. (Interesting stories there w/ Gebi & Ben Barger battling for the Men's spot).
I may not have been that far from it on Sat. Dead downwind is pretty tough, but you can point pretty low. If it really blows that much, I may bring my wide board and sail formula fleet.

Rats! They keep changing the f'cast. Last I saw they're saying 9 mph Saturday, down from 14-23 earlier in the week. I don't know how a cold front is going to get through the southeast in one day and not have some wind behind it. Still, looks like perfect weather & 9 mph is plenty to make it interesting.
Also now registered:
John "Last Minute" Jordan, atl
Bert "Weather Guru" Eskridge, Asheville, NC
Dan & Marty Gutting, Orangeburg, SC
Richard Genet, Alfreduh, GA
Only bad news: Robbie called, "Can't make it"... (something about didn't want to leave paradise )
If it does blow, I'd love to get some good photos during the racing. For anybody that wants to shoot pix, I can get you the best seat in the house, on one of the race committee boats.
It was great hanging out with you guys this weekend! I have some pics, but it's not clear how to upload them into the Fall Classic album. Advice?
Debbie

Since we now have 2 Serenitys and a Div 2, will we have a Wind Maximum? I'm thinking 5 kt.

Interesting account of the trials:

Cold front forcasted for Sat Oct 20 (7.5 Day meteogram). Be interesting seeing the Serenity fleet heading to the downwind mark in 15+ knots.

I'll bring my Formula stuff too.

Looks windy on Sat, pretty weak on Sunday. Would be cool to race formula on Sat and Serenity on Sunday!
