Excellent ShredFest!

Thanks for everyone showing up to make this weekend's event an actual "Shred FEST" ! We had 24 students in the Learn to Windsurf clinic. We had about 60 people around for the evening activities and party. It was a beautiful, glorious day weather-wise. Like Randy said, experienced windsurfers were out on the open water on a plane having a good day. The Sacred Wind Alter even got fired up complete with special effects. I don't know if much gear moved through the Swap Meet but I know some stuff got cleared out in the Silent Auction. We had a few windsurfing students from Ga. Tech show up to add a little color to the sizable gathering that hung around the firelight late into the night. Some interesting "offerings" were indeed offered up in smoke. Others were just smashed to pieces. Everyone seemed stoked to be there experiencing the scene. (Well, except maybe Phil K. when he got hit by the jetskiier. Yes, that's true. Someone else will have to tell that story here.)
Let me add my thanks particularly to Chris Voith for hosting us in behalf of the LLSC and handling all that food and drinks. He put a lot more time and energy into setting all this up than he's admitting to.
(Personally, I want to add my thanks to Danny Johnson and Mark Sanders and John Laing for all the rigging and gear toting for the LTW clinic. And Chris Pyron for his instruction efforts.)

Thanks !

Yes, big thanks to everyone who helped pull this weekend together; and especially Chris V for hosting us at the LLSC, for the commemorative Shredfest 2005 souvenir hats, and for assuming the role of stoker for the wind altar ceremony. (We reached slightly over 28 knots before the candles went out so it should be a good season.)

A big turnout for the clinic and the 'fest, great weather (including some wind on both days and a cool evening for the campfire and camping), great people, and great food. Chuck, Gene, and Danny even gave door prizes to everyone for showing up. How can you beat that?

Dont forget Aerotech and Chinook who supplied the big door prizes. They're some great guys and gals.
