Ernesto road trip?

I'm watching this storm and toying with the idea of a trip to the coast. Any thoughts or interest?

May be able to sail here too - perhaps fri or sat if the storm track holds up.

I was going to go down to Destin with a friend for the weekend. If anyone else will be in that area let me know. There aren't any extended wind forecasts for the weekend yet are there? I'm new with this and figured its too many days away to forecast the wind.

the mrf forecast goes out 7 days but it's a crap shoot when a tropical system is involved. When the fronts come marching through in the colder months, it does much better.

There have been times when a tropical system comes through that 50-100 miles difference in the plotted vs. actual track makes a huge difference. The forecast is for 20 and you get skunked.

Looks like Ernie is going to cross too much land to have any wind left for us.

Live report from the Tybee - Hilton Head area: After watching the weather channel guys soil their drawers for the last 3 days, i was ready for some 4.5 excitement. Got about 2 hours of 5.8 in very gusty, holey conditions. It just never fired up in our area. Sullivan's Island is going off right now, though (6 pm) with 23 and gusts to 39. Hope somebody got some o' that.... tc
