No wind in the last three weeks? This is painful. We usually get a bit of breeze this time of year but this is just weird. Nothing on the immediate horizon, either.
You guys might consider lowering your standards. I've been out 5 times in the last 12 days. I admit, I SUKed, but I was out there - I only consider one of them to have been pretty worthless (5 minutes out of an hour). June 4 (or maybe 3rd) was actually a good easterly. One day last week was a pretty good westerly. Since SUKing take more wind than windsurfing (the kite kindly tells you when there is not enough wind by falling out of the sky) it would have been possible to sail a lot, even though planning might not have been an option most of the time. (I've got the video's to prove it too, but then everyone is probably already bored enough.)
So cat video's or are we going to all learn how to board sail again?

Oh what the heck. You guys are already bored. Here was the worst of the 5 days. The counter intuitive thing about this is the less wind you have, the smaller kite you use to avoid killing the apparent wind. Notice Chris was out sailing as well. What made this day a disappointment was that the wind looked pretty good but once we both got about a half mile upwind (downstream) it pretty much quit, though finally a few puffs allowed us to get back. (Chris might have gone out again, I called it a day, and on the way home heard thunder.)

Micah - if you can be satisfied with simply sailing, that is, not necessarily planing, or as Randy would say, "planning", then there is no need to burden your body, not to mention your bank account with an 8.5, 9.5, or 12.5M sail. While I don't sail as much as Randy, I probably sail more than most folks around here & I very very seldom go bigger than 6.0. I pretty much always enjoy my sessions. One key for me is having a "longboard" or "transitional board" to use in situations where I might not be planing consistently, or maybe at all. Just a thought.
I started bowling...

During the day? I'm all for bowling but that tends to be a night-time pursuit. Unless you are hard-core.

I would take any wind...but double the frustration by only owning a 6.5.
$.99 games all summer at Brunswick on Austell Rd. It's on the way home from work.
