Nice William.
Is that replacing something or an addition?

Excited about Van Pugh.
It’s a Christmas Miracle!

Wow, am I clairvoyant or what...look at the text msg I sent William in Oct 2019, predicting this would be his Christmas present - over a year in advance!! Smile

I know, you nay sayers would question me as "which Christmas you meant is unclear" or even " sounds like you meant Christmas 2019" and all but I know in my heart that this is exactly what I predicted. BELIEVE!!!
Smile

Congrats William!

Intended as a replacement. My sweet girl has been through a lot and has held up longer than I might have expected, considering the abuse she's suffered over the three years. Not sure of what to do with the old one. Still holding up but as a light weight foil board, probably has an expiration date.

Honestly, took longer than I would have wanted but it's been a challenging year for any small business and happy Alex has come out the other side still intact. There wasn't much wind this summer and I spent the fall on the DL so no reason to get my panties in a twist.

Make the old one a demo board.

What good news! Van Pugh is open, wind is coming & William’s getting a new foil board. Plus the first vaccine shipments are on the way.

Re: Christmas came early!

Overall, new board is pretty similar to old one but a few differences show up. Pics comparing new and old nose and tail. New board is 3cm longer, 3 cm wider and 10l. more. A little more area in the nose and a more width around the back straps. More strap options in the back front and back instead of in/out like old board. New fin box a couple of cm back.

Most of this reflects what's gone on in the last few years. Most foils aren't as back footed and we've found a bit more width in the tail helps going upwind. The broader nose should help fast tacks, too, as the old one was easy to bury if you tried to get around super quick.

The shape changes are exactly what I was hoping for in getting the new board. I don't think they would matter as much to someone just foiling back and forth but, as I've tried pushing my envelope, they are welcome. The original board did me right. Learned a lot on it and it was really fun in fin mode at OBX.
