On Sunday, we checked out Carter's Lake. Seems like the shoreline is hostile for potential launching spots, although there's a possible one close to the beach area. What's the deal with this lake - does anyone windsurf there?
I go up to Carter's Lake a few times each year to fly combat slope planes when the wind is right. Never saw any one windsurfing. The wind on the lake is turbulent due to the large dam and the hills around it. I don't think it would be worth windsurfing there at all.
Ginny, Christopher & I toured the area once, me thinking there could be an area where the wind funnels and increases. I didn't see any likely spots. Locals we talked to said nobody sails (anything) there. It's pretty though.
