Dogs are technically not allowed, but during the colder months it should not be a problem -- just as long as no one is taking money at the gate. I used to take my dog a lot...
No worries! Thx for the help. I kept thinking my dog would love the water, but never saw a dog there so wondered if it was not allowed. Sounds like it wouldn't be much of a problem this time of year though. Perhaps more remote lakes are a little more open to it since there are less people.
I see people walking dogs and bringing dogs all the time in their cars at Tidwell and Vann's Tavern. Perhaps there is a difference between a boat ramp only and a park. Tidwell and Vann's do have a small park as well as a boat ramp. There isn't a "manned" gate like at VP.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
You might want to take them to one of the parks around the chattahoochee river, there is one at the top of 285 a lot of people bring their dogs and let them play in the river there.
As long as it's on a leash you can

Matt,
Dogs are not allowed at Van Pugh - if they see it they will kick you out.
Been there ....
