Calema midweek lack-of-wind report

For all you folks back home, you ain't missing nothing. Well, actually, you are missing nothing. Cloudy, no wind today; none yesterday. Barely any day before. Danny J. and I did get the twin-sail "Tandemonium" planing a little on Sunday. Of course, some people named Matt, Kevin, Phil, Jason, etc. are planing some on 12.5's and custom formula's. Surfing on Sunday was the highlight so far. We hit the surf with our hard foam surfboards -- no shame here. Good waves and the season's warmest days so far bought out a large surfing crowd. The almost overwhelming fight to paddle out is always worth it on days like that, just to be sitting out there in the lineup and ride 2 or 3 good waves, which is about all I ever get. Hopefully, I'll have better news by Friday. Later...

Come on over to Howard Park then!! I am there now and have been having 10-15MPH every day. Sometimes even more. We are only 2 hours away.
Oh wait. No. You might suddenly upset the wind gods that have been so good to us.

Thanks to the post above by Chuck, only moments later, the wind gods arrived at Calema, and my 150# body was planing on a 6.9 and a 115l board! Then yesterday(Friday), I was overpowered, but grinning Biggrin from noon to dusk, and the freestyle competion near the beach was a very gratifying sight during the brief breaks for water and a rest. Oh, and I can't forget!, I got my first experience on the TANDEMONIUM!!! AWSOME, BABY!!!!

Stoked on the Banana River,

Doug

Today's forcast is more of the same; and I can see from the hotel balcony that it's already blowing NOW, so, gotta GO!!
