Bonaire tips?

I'm thinking someplace warm & windy in the next month or so. Anybody know the deal on Bonaire? Ginny & I have been but it was a long time ago.

Chris, I like staying at this place (can book direct with rental car/truck):

http://www.belmar-bonaire.com/

Check airfare rates (as well as lodging and rental car) from Andy at:

http://bonairepros.com/

Check out rental gear at:

Usually summer time has better wind and cheaper rates. No better sailing than Lac Bay when its blowing however last year there were some low wind periods (especially through the winter). You'll need a rental car to get around. Some of the better restaurants include Richard's, Lion's den, Capt. Don's, etc. We're thinking about going again in May, killer diving also!

I agree with David. Bonaire is the best in the Carribean. Not much to do other than sail and dive and snorkel. Rental sooters would be fun. Very little sighseeing. When I was there I though I would see thousands of flamingos but I only saw 20 or so. I went last January and was skunked about 1/2 the trip but it is warm. The grocery store is a blast. The del Mar has been know to give a discount if you ask for one. Also, be aware teh air conditioner only works when you are in the room. I tried to override this but failed.

Bonaire tips

Was in Bonaire last week and the temp was low 80's - perfect, with water basically the same. Viz was not quite as good as usual because of recent rain, but still 50-75 feet. Winds were 10-12 most of the time we were there, but last Sunday it was 15-18 knots. Wind is best in May and June. I agree that Belmar is a great place to stay - has beautiful views, nice dock for viewing sunsets and an accommodating staff. Casablanca is also a good place to eat, but beware they serve VERY LARGE portions.
