Best Weather for Learn to Windsurf??

After several years of good "educational" breezes at LTW, yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. However, I got to thinking (usually a dangerous activity) and think a case could be made that days like yesterday are really the best learning opportunity.

The reason is that naturally, its easier and more fun to learn when there is some wind - even 5-10 mph. But if a newcomer really wants to learn what they are up against, in taking on this sport, a 0-4 day like yesterday migth be better - since it won't give any false illusions about how easy the sport is, and how often the wind blows.

In any case, it didn't seem like the lack of wind detracted much from the all around fun factor. The lack of wind just made for one more challenge. Our newbies seemed to learn the basics of sailing, uphauling and turning - a pretty good start no matter what the wind.

Kudos to Chuck, Gene, Danny, Chris and all the others who helped make chicken salad out of ...., well you get the picture.

What do you all think?

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
