I've been out of the Atlanta windsurfing scene for several years but used to be a Van Pugh regular.(Greetings to all those that I have not seen in several years. I'm alive and well and back in GA. after many fun years living in the Gorge)
I've taken up kite boarding and I'm looking for other kiters in the atlanta area. I now live at Lake Oconee. We actually have a great lauchsite for kiting and sailing on NW windy days. Clean, unobstructed wind with the lake being almost a mile wide at this point with side shore wind.
Kiting is a sport that requires other kiters. IS THERE ANY BODY OUT THERE?????????
I'm also looking for those interested in travel for kiting/Hatteras, Virgin Islands, DR.

I know of 3 of us that kite. Chris Swartz and I just got 20 m2 North Rhinos. We went last weekend down in Melbourne FL. Had pretty good 12 - 14 mph winds 3 days. We're relatively new to the sport so it was interesting for us. I've been doing it since 2001 but you don't get as much time on the water here as your used to up at Hood River...
We try to go up at Lanier but it's tough with the water so high (very few launch sites). I've got a boat up there so that helps a bit. Lake Oconee sounds intersting. Let us know when your going.
