The Augusta-Columbia Windsurfing Association (ACWA) is hosting a Spring Windsurfers Picnic at Lake Murray, near Columbia, SC, on March 12 from 11:am till near sundown. It's about a 3 hour drive east on I-20 from Atlanta. It's open to all windsurfers and wanna-be's. Come be our guest! Roger Jackson, with his Sailworks/Starboard/Powerex traveling windsurfing "demo road show" will be the main attraction, along with the chance to hang out with windsurfers from all around. A swap meet is likely to break out as well. We'll offer a quality cook-out lunch for a minor $$ contribution. The gathering is at Pine Island, a private recreation center with full facilites on the Irmo side of Lake Murray Dam. (Any Map Quest search or S.C. state map will get you pretty close. Off of I-20 you drive through Lexington, SC on Hwy 6.) If it blows, you know what we'll be doing, but you also know we can't count on that, so if it doesn't, we'll look at gear, have a rigging session with Roger, an intermediate tips lesson, and a nice day at the lake.
