Yeah, kind of what Langdon said. The supply chain is all sorts of screwed up. In 2021, stuff that should have been here in spring was just making it ashore in mid-summer.
From what I've read, the supply chain is still pretty bad. I wouldn't think true 2022 stuff to be here until April or May. We'll probably see '21 gear still trickle in all autumn.
The Phantasm suffered a double whammy - product teething issues (from what I've read) and then slam into the middle of Covid. They've had the gear in Oz for a couple of months and poor Langdon is still hanging dry here.
"At Granville Golfland, a Golf Digest Top 100 club fitter 30 minutes east of Columbus, Ohio, custom-fit clubs used to take about 7 to 10 days to arrive. Now, customers are being told it may take as long as 12 weeks. At American Golf locations in the U.K., they’re telling clients they might not come until December.
Irons, drivers, putters, even grips have been hard to find because of global supply chain shortages that have delayed everything from semiconductors to chlorine tablets.
For golf, the timing couldn’t be worse. The sport enjoyed renewed popularity amid the pandemic: The National Golf Foundation estimates that a record 3 million people played on a golf course for the first time in 2020. More golfers led to additional equipment sales. Industry behemoth Callaway reported a record fourth quarter 2020, with consolidated net sales of $375 million and a 20% increase, compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
But combined with ongoing pandemic problems, including shutdowns of factories in Vietnam over concerns around the Delta variant, delays have become the norm for both sellers and buyers.
With the current (and future) gear shortage happening, I did the most unimaginable thing a windsurfer could do - paid full retail for a board. Ouch. But I had my heart set on some pretty specific specs and I was told it would be 2022 before I could get another chance at the board I wanted. I noticed the shop I purchased from did have some close-out foil boards ($700 off) in late Spring, but became almost full price again by mid-Summer! Guess they were running out of gear.
So what I have been hearing is pretty much what webguy said. Some new 2021 gear may trickle in this Fall, but 2022 stuff could be late Spring.
Good info for sure. Local bike shops call me at my used bike resale shop asking if I have specific parts!
The reason for the original question is because I was wondering if/ when we might see new 2021 gear on sale/close out. But that’s not likely to happen if supply is low and demand is high.

I'd say yes but the problem is whether that's the gear that you'd want. You'll may see some 86 l. wave boards go cheap and Black Friday sales may still be a thing - although they weren't that enticing, iirc, this past year.
I need to stay the * away from your bike shop. My garage already looks like an episode of hoarders.
No current inventory, I post things periodically on our Instagram and Facebook pages, bike come and go so fast, it is impossible to keep a running list.
Made the mistake of going through the FB page. The Salsa is both beyond my wallet and size but what a gorgeous bike. Spotted a Trek from last spring that I definitely would have snapped up. Ignorance is bliss, however. I'm testing the patience of she who makes all things possible as it is.
The Salsa was/is very nice. The only problem with it was that it sat in the shed all winter, spring summer, except for 2 rides. Sold yesterday! Here's to giving foiling a go!!
If it is like the new Slingshot Phantasm the 2022 will be available 2024

Must be frustrating times for the windsurf shops - lots of customers but not enough gear. Opposite of what it's been for the 2000-2019 period.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

That all makes sense. Same for most industries.

Isthmus Sailboards has a few close outs. I bought both of my JP’s there on close out.
Good folks.

Thanks, I called and chatted with them, super nice guys. Had a great conversation with Britt at North Beach too,

I can help with that!!
Do you have a website link or current inventory list for your bike shop?
Never thought I’d even consider one but my old man knees have have me thinking about retiring my Epic and getting a Turbo Levo.

None of my little sweeties are leaving the nest. It's a nicely curated little collection.
Webguy: Had to ask, its my job!!
