You're right about Saturday. I sailed a 9.9 on my Equipe and fell twice in gusts that came in like canon balls... you know the kind where the wind actually reverses just in front of the gust. Both times I fell to windward even though I saw the gnarly bastards coming and was ready for it (or so I thought). This was in the Small Boat Long Distance Race that LLSC does for members. I was racing 4 Thistles and 1 Flying Scot over a 15 mile course. (I am still a little sore). It was a little gruelling but still fun. After not quite 3 hrs, I crossed the line second, 3 minutes behind a Thistle. The Portsmouth scoring might adjust the finishes a little.
That's an impressive run against Thistles. My sailing instructor out at Allatona took several of us out on her Thistle one time. Huge sail on that boat. Very quick in not much wind. It would be fun to try to set up a long distance race for windsurfers sometime. Maybe something like Van Pugh to Two Mile around the islands and back to VP.

Never mind - this hourly weather graph has been erratic lately in some of it's forecasts. Hope springs...
Have hope - sometimes they come back!
if not, the best way to sail these types of virtual cold fronts is to get the free windsurfing game demo downloaded to your computer.

I like this forecast product, but lately I gotta wonder look at the forecast for Thursday night - seems absurd.
Yea, I have seen those crazy looking oscillations on the NWS stuff for a couple of weeks. Maybe somebody stuck their gum on a hard drive somewhere?!
Don't laugh. That's pretty much was last Saturday was like, though not as strong as shown there.
