Sunday mid-late afternoon

Hoping to go to later in the afternoon tomorrow with Jr. Likely at the LLSC but expected direction (NW) good at VP or Old Fed.

Please post if you are considering Allatoona. A guy up in TN is starting to windfoil and may come down.

I've been avoiding weekends (except maybe early morning before the boats arrive). Has anyone been out on a weekend afternoon lately? I'm wondering if football season has reduced boat traffic.

It always reduces traffic, imho. Between the weather, the start of school and football season, I imagine things will be quieter tomorrow. Not winter quiet by any means but better than an early summer weekend.

I expect to be at Allatoona this afternoon. Either windsurfing or sailboat.

I’m thinking about Van Pugh or Old Federal mid afternoon after checking the weather again at 12.

Haizer and I planning on going to Galts this afternoon. As always - no promises there will be any wind......

Galts was a bust but 5 of us gave it our best, hopefully you had better luck at Lanier.

The music was good and ever present. I didn't understand any of the lyrics (but I never do anyway.) The beer drinking relay race (or whatever it was) seemed to be a rousing success (for the participants) but I wasn't invited. No doubt that was for the best......I got to practice e foiling in jet ski wake and did some cheat foiling as well. Fortunately, I put in my caveat about not promising wind. We did have some dark water, after an early lull.

Howard and I also got to meet East Cobb Phil who launched from the sailing club.

I caught up to William & Simon at LLSC. WF was ripping on 6.9 but 6.5 was not quite enough for me then same for 8.5 as the wind faded. Soon after they left, the wind returned for a solid 1.5 hour session. Good

Re: Sunday mid-late afternoon

Jr and I showed up earlier at the LLSC and it was actually pretty breezy. Got him out on a 5.4 and 1500cm wing since he's a newbie at foiling. He got in a few short hops. The 6.9 looked like a good choice when I started rigging - I might have even gone with the 5.4 had it not already been taken.

Was enough wind to pull off a few foiling jibes so not a bad day when the forecast didn't even show dots. We could see the breeze filling back in as we left. Glad Chris stuck around to take advantage of it.

imho, all efoilers are just wingers in training. Biggrin

I had my first flights with 7.5 sail. The longest one was maybe 5 seconds. A lot of breaches.

If you want to discuss possible causes and cures, hit me up. Otherwise, I'll let you enjoy the "journey of discover" (aka the learning curve) Biggrin

Thanks, I definitely need some advice.
Gene gave me some already.
I blame the wind Biggrin it was 0 to 20 mph.
I will try again next weekend if there is wind.

"Man up, buttercup"? Lol
It's always the wind. Too much, too little but never just right. Lol

Edit - more wisdom from Gene that I just found:

Quote:
In my opinion, monday's wind was probably the worst wind I've ever tried to sail in.

Anybody going to try it again today?
