Live report from Van Pugh. Arrived 3PM - wind W, sunny, solid whitecaps.
Update - The wind exceeded the forecast and was very steady from 3-5PM. I windsurfed with a 7.0m sail & 120L board. William arrived when I came off the water.
I got about 40 minutes of off and on with the 5.4 before the wind died to yhe level where the 8.0 would have been a lot of fun.
Used downtime to work on stuff. Figured out key to helitack: go ahead and flip the sail as soon as you feel back wind pressure. Also keep it upright so it doesn't start to build momentum and pull on you and the board.
Looks like 3 of the 4 models on predictwind show good wind tomorrow. Storms are expected too though.
You might want to consider old Fed if you go, with a W-Sw wind you can sail closer to shore in case you have to duck and cover.

Unfortunately, forgot I have another commitment so can't make it after all ?
Handy advice though - thanks!

Rigging at Old Federal
Recap
Rigged 7m
Wind was decent for about 30mins or so then dropped off to a steady breeze that was not quite enough to keep me flying.
Still better than cutting grass
