Monday’s Surprise Session

There was wind in today’s forecast, then there wasn’t, then a few dots appeared predicting an evening breeze. Fortunately William, Gene & I headed to Van Pugh and were rewarded with nice foiling conditions from 4-6 PM. The mild cold front dropped the humidity and my gear dried before packing up.

Re: Monday’s Surprise Session

It was a 10/10 day. I wanted to say it was perfect but there are so many different ways to have a perfect day so I just felt better saying yesterday ticked all the boxes.

It took a bit of time for the wind to fill in so Gene and I got to mess with a new toy of his. The view was amazing for summer. We could see the mountains clearly and thunderheads up in NC. Nice water and air temps. Smooth water with minor boat traffic.

This wasn't hugely forecast so it was a bit of an unexpected treat, too, which made it sweeter. Just enough wind that I could pump up even in lulls make about 70% of the jibes flying. And enough wind to really crank down in the harness and let it rip in the gusts.

I've had days where I had more of this or that but overall yesterday had all I wanted. I'll remember it in January when I need some encouragement to get through another winter.
