Barrett went and had a good time. I was six miles away with a pressure washer and didn't see much wind at all. Did rain for about 20 min, though. Glad it worked for Barrett.
Saturday 10am nice little steady wind blowing. (Enough for foiling) That seems to be growing. Not much traffic now.
West SW wind is a good thing because Vann Tavern is packed out with what looks like a church baptism. (10:30 the big group cleared out)
I'll be out at OF campground when my wife shows up with my gear.
As William reported, I sailed yesterday and thought it would be a bust when I arrived, but the wind picked up & I foiled for about 45 min with an 8.0m sail until the wind ramped up. I switched my foil board for a 120L board and had a blast windsurfing for 25 minutes with the same sail. Chris Pyron got out just as the wind was dropping, but said it was worth it to get out on the water.
The earlier forecast today was for 5-10 G 15, so Rhett & I decided not to risk a full parking lot & heavy boat traffic. We hope to sail Monday & maybe Tuesday.
Patience paid late Saturday and I was able to get a few flights. Lots of boats out but it was nice to rise above the voodoo chop.
Thanks to Bailey White for the photo.
Interesting, perhaps telling reportage. Sailor 1: mild carping {IMHO} re: inconsistent wind. Sailor 2: "Well, I had fun." - full stop. This becomes sailor 1 had a blast, sailor 2 missed it, "but said it was worth it to get out on the water."

Can't remember the last time you had a less than good session, Chris. You have a knack of enjoying a very broad range of conditions. I wouldn't read too much into Sailor 1's report. He has a more "focused" objective. I think he just felt lucky to grab something on a day that really didn't promise much of what he was looking for. No right or wrong, imho. It's all good. To this day, my most "liked" photo on our FB group is a pic of me at zero mph (thanks, Gene, for the pic!). Funny enough, I had a blast that day which, for a complainer like me, is truly notable.
Maybe 2nd shift
Edit at 4pm
Looks like it is staying SW longer than originally forecast.
I think I will wait for tomorrow or next week
Anyone going Sat? Thoughts on parking and boat traffic?
Sunny Saturday after a rainy week, Go early and don't assume boats see you.
