I was thinking "All that guy needs is a good day".
NWS: Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Better if it was just plain 15, g 20 but we can't have everything, right?

I'm off to warmer climes for a few days. Looks like I'm leaving some good sessions behind. Hope some of you make it down to Jax.
You’re doing this?

Yes The two IQ guys and Tim Knapp are very fast. Christophe can't make it. I'm sure they'll all do two laps in the time I do one.
Isn't the Rudder Club thing NEXT w/e?
Hamdi Day may suffer from Dome Day Afternoon issues.
But I'm still hopeful... or maybe it's time to start shopping for a rowing shell, mountain bike, dirt bike, snow skis, camper & wife?!

Old Fed campground is open?
Yep, today's first day.
Yeah, possible dome effect Fri, possibly too high winds on Sat, then no wind for Sun or most days next week…Welcome to wind sports in Atlanta right?
I might take windfoil stuff and mtn bike and check out Vanns as there’s good mountain biking very near there if there’s no wind. Or straight to biking?

I might try again tomorrow but (more than) a little gun shy to keep the bad streak going too deep. Will see
Foiled at Vista Park today in Ft Lauderdale with Ron Kern. We had a nice SE 12-16 mph sea breeze. Rigged the 5.4 for my first time going through the shore break and Ron winged a 6.0. Super nice session but took me a bit to settle onto the rhythm of the local chop.
Park is real nice with a nice grass rigging area and short walk to the water. Parking not for value oriented customers but with showers and grass, made for a primo beach experience
Afterwards, Ron kindly offered me the use of his Lift efoil. For about 15 minutes I was a total newbie but got it sorted and was flying and turning on the lake behind his home.
If they were more affordable, I think I'd have a blast on one at the lake.
Prior foiling experience is definitely a plus. Once I figured out how to balance it coming out of the water and then standing, things came quickly. The lift is pretty sensitive and knowing how to make very subtle movements was a huge help.

Perfect Dome Effect case study at LLSC- light and straight into the beach when we got there at 3:30. The wind backed to SSW (out of Aqualand) and we could see stronger wind with a few whitecaps coming off the shore there but much less on our side of the bay. As the air cooled, the stronger wind slowly filled in across the whole bay. 8.5 got a little big in the end. Gene, Howard, Langdon, Hizar and winger Roland. Byron Tobin caught me in the act.

I thought it looked like there was some foiling going on when the checked the LLSC webcam, but you guys need to sail closer to the camera next time. Hard to see when you are far out like that.
