I am shooting for noonish as I need to get back mid afternoon to prep the camper for a camping trip.
Even if crowds fill up VP, looks like I will at least beat 2 people to prime parking spots! ?
As the saying goes, ‘you don’t have to outrun the bear; you just have to outrun your buddy!’ ?
Well, it was more like a 4.0 day except someone... ahem me, left their 370 mast at home. So, it was a 4.7 day anyway. Gilmer reported a lot of 20-30 and most of the afternoon felt like that.
Hamdi was the Ironman today, holding down a 5.7 on a foil. Barrett, Chris P and Ed finned. Along with Hamdi, Gene, Rhett and I foiled and Scott from Athens put in a pretty impressive session on a wing given the conditions. Howard came out and said hello but stayed on the dry side of things.
A few sailboats and fisherman out but otherwise, just our little play ground. Nice swells but too overpowered to really take advantage of them.
I windsurfed with a 6.0 m sail down-hauled to the max and had a blast carving and jumping off the swell. Ed was on some impressive speed runs with a 5.5m sail.
Photos are of Rhett on his last foil run of the day.
What a great forecast. I’ll join you this afternoon at VP.
