If forecast holds, I plan to sail at Old Fed on Monday.

Tony,
Speaking as a dog, not sure how I feel about that picture. It just feels... feline if you know what I mean.
Expect to be at OF around noon
Noon for me too

I should have gone today I chicken ed out assuming the water temp would be colder than it is.
Anybody know the water temp? The online site watertemp.net says it's 69.8f. Hard to believe it's still that warm
That was the water temp. over two weeks ago. The Corps hadn't updated the recording last time I called. Water is maybe in the low 60's. However, the air temp was 39ºF when I departed Old Federal about 2:30PM. I sure hope Van Pugh, which typically has much better wind with any direction except south, reopens before spring. As usual it was very gusty at Old Fed, but still worth the effort.
You missed seeing William's new van, with room to stand up inside and change on days when it's freezing cold outside.
Barrett
It felt warm because the air temp was like 40 when I left but I'd have a hard time thinking it's that high given the air temperature hasn't been in the 70s in a few weeks with nights a lot lower.
I could be wrong but I'd guess in the mid 60s.Edit: I'm wrong. According to this, the surface temp last week was 60: https://www.gainesvilletimes.com/sports/fishing-report/lake-lanier-fishing-report-striper-crappie-fishing-strong-during-these-warmer-days/I didn't get there until mid afternoon when it was a nice 12-20. Apparently the wind was stronger early. Rain came in and the insanity of being out in those temps in the rain became apparent. The wind also kicked up to at least a solid 25 as Chris P and Tony tried to sneak in a bit more but came back in.
Gene, Barrett, Alan, Hamdi, Alejo were also out. I sure do miss Van Pugh - the islands upwind make it even more puffy than it needs to be. Tomorrow is iffy unless it's a bit warmer.
It blew hard, Then backed off a bit, Then came back with a vengeance. My core never got real cold but It was nice to jump in the water and warm my fingers up for a moment though. I think we are all just a bit wimpy and spoiled from foiling in the 60's and 70's.
1st time foiling in that strong of wind instead of windsurfing..... Amazing that we can run everything from a 8.5 down to 4.0 on foil boards and they all feel nicely balanced.
Snowflakes in Atlanta at 6:30p and not the overly sensitive people kind.

The first cold session, warm water makes a big difference. I finally broke the 30 mph ?

What board and sail were you on Ed?
Alan
Wow Ed ! That's FAST!
I hate seeing the heat leave the water– steam fog on the lake cam this morning
Anybody thinking about going today, Tuesday? I may go back this afternoon depending on tempt, wind and sun?
Gene

Let me guess, gusting to 30 MPH, so probably on his 7.5 or maybe 8.5/9.5?

How cold was it yesterday? They had lake effect snow in N. AL
Alan wants his board back. While you're at it, I'll take my sail, too. Was that your pulley hook Tony found?

Tuesday, Hamdi and I winfoiled, 4.7 and 5.2 and Tony winged it on 7.0 wing.
