Who has a take on this? I know it's early but right now it looks like Sunday wind is better and a bit warmer. What time of day does NWS update the forecast? Will make the ofishul call tomorrow p.m.
I'm planning on going up Friday for the real wind and camping through Sunday. You're welcome to do the same.

I will come sail with you Friday evening.
I will be available to race whenever you decide
Not sure but think updates are at 11.00 and 5.00.
I hope to sail Friday and to play at the regatta.

I was hoping the front would come sooner and it seems to be playing out that way:
- Flipping from west to east is not great (there will be a lull), but now it is saying it will go East early Sat vs midday.
And the temp is similar Sat and Sun. So, if out-of-towners were coming, it seems it could happen Sat.
But, one more day of forecast will give better data. You are the man!
Looks like we will have wind - sweet!
The GFS is more optimistic both days but, indeed, Saturday looks like it's becoming the better candidate. GFS now suggesting light rain Sunday.
Might need a mask in the water due to the Flat Creek spill.

Nice masks, I am sure we will have masks on the water pictures. Probably harder to breathe through a wet mask.
I found this (from Australia ... probably need the local safety update ):
After a sewage spill, it usually takes from 48 to 72 hours for a water body to return to a safe condition. Sometimes it can take a week or more.
A number of factors will determine when a contaminated water body will return back to a safe condition. These include:
salinity (the more salt the better)
sunlight (the more sun the better)
tidal movement
weather conditions
the volume of the spill.
The Department of Health will not give the water body the all clear until it has been determined to be safe for recreational purposes.

( some info - need more I think )
Thanks to Gene for the obvious idea- who could sail NEXT weekend? This is not Halloween weekend, talking about Oct 24-25. Just opening the discussion here, because I need to run this by the LLSC peeps. The Halloween Regatta is an open event so if we could glom onto that and probably have a separate start on the small boat course.
There would of course be more activity and people at the club and probably a few more campers, but I imagine we can keep our distance and sequester at the beach / camping area.
Wind is a crap shoot (kinda like the current water quality ) that far out but it seems likely it could be warmer enough to be more fun.
What do you think?
I can do next weekend as far as I know
Move it to a weekend you feel comfortable with (or not). Whatever the decision is, we all support you. Any dissent will be dealt with by our crack team of angry mountain lions.

I think I am good if you want to move it. Thanks!
Either weekend works for me.

I'm fine either week ends too.
Postponed until next weekend, Oct 24 or 25. Details to follow.

Sounds good to me. Hoping for sunny, warm and windy.

While it's breezy today, I appreciate Chris's efforts to run a safe event. I know it was a hard decision but looking forward to next week.
