Just what we've been waiting for - the first real cold front of the season. This Wed. (Sept. 30) is shaping up to be a great day at the Lake. I just called the Corps. office for an update on the status of Van Pugh Park, it's still closed with no announced date for reopening. Please post if you know a better launch than Old Fed.
with NW wind.

Sunrise Cove used to be nice until they started closing early. But, there was a reason we all flocked to VP all these years. Hartwell would rip on a NW at Long Point but that's not in the cards for me. The doc says I can do mild activity this week before I get officially shut down for the season Monday. I intend to foil with a small sail.
Glad to hear you’re cleared for mild activity. Good new for you - big wind Wednesday is cancelled by NWS in favor of light wind Tuesday.

Do not worry about Wednesday yet.
The NWS is operated by a cat with questionable intentions.
Just a FYI “Due to Covid restrictions” Sunrise Day Park is completely closed.

Quote of the week
Current wind (13mph) is already better than forecast
I’m at Old Fed.
Wind is around 8 to 12 right now. Darker patches near the islands. Should be foil worthy by noon.

It will be afternoon sometime before I can escape work
More whitecaps now.
Rigging a 6.

Wow! Thanks for the live reports. Not a leaf moving at my house in Decatur. I'll get a bite to eat and head to Old Fed.

On my way to Old Federal
I got on the water around 4 . It had fairly light winds.
Got a few rides leeward of the big islands. Tacked up in front of the islands and it was a little better and got some real long flights. The area between Old Fed Campground /LLSC and Port Royal on the West side make for a long fetch
