BTW - at Tidwell* today saw a sign being put up on the restroom by the park ranger: This area is closed due to Covid 19. I'm guessing all the restrooms are closed in COE parks. So don't be drinking too much coffee on the way to lake.
*(Don't even bother to ask. Suffice it to say my losing streak continues.)

Those of you sailing or whatever we call it now, please remember to use you Lysol on booms, gloves, helmets and don’t forget to wash your hands frequently after peeing in your wetsuits
I just looked at the 5 min report and it strangely seems to blow more around the time of the hourly observation. Even at Gilmer, away from the water, it was gusty.

I think that the highest gust in the previous hour when they report the data at time of the hourly observation whether it falls into one of the 5 minute intervals or not. I've seen that happen a lot times (gusts a xx.53 but none during the hour) and it seems to defy logic that happens that often when they do the hourly summary report.
If you look at the PDK and KRYY reports you will see the same thing: gusts at the time of the hourly, but none in the 5 minute reports.

Gene and I tested the conditions...
Well the water is no longer "bitey"
There were actually 3 teenagers swimming at OF.
I could get up on the foil but when I stopped pumping I stopped flying.
We have an 86 degree, 10-20 forecast for Friday here in Augusta, but man, I'm sure the dome effect will be in full force.
Get real close to the South end ofthe lake.
I think that is one of our problems at VP and OF.
Too far up the lake...
My theory is the cold air over the water robs the warm wind of strength.
I said it was a theory....
Maybe Peelskid can drag us around the South end of the lake until we find wind
I’m going to West Point is anyone’s up for a field trip

Friday's WSW wind looks more promising to me, despite chance of light 0.1 in. rain in forecast. It's about time for some windsurfing!!!

Starting to get breezy at home but I need to skip today as more pressing stuff persists.
Still early, but as of 2 pm the web cam doesn't make it look very appealing either.

West Point was decent, Rode the trails then foiled for a couple hours. I’m beat.
Water is way down, glad I took the short mast.
Gasoline in the area was as low as $1.60/Gallon

How about electricity- any chance that's cheaper as well? ??
Not sure, I didn’t buy any electricity.
You could stick a generator in one of those trunks for the ride down.
Alan
Headed up. Hoping the toilet paper and bottled water supplies last the trip.
Oh speaking of TP, The restrooms at West Point were also closed.
Alan
Glad gas is cheap. I wasted it today. Sam's Club was 1.75 today, btw.
Well crud I was hoping to get a good report on today.
