In a year we've gone from the "heres the only size you'll ever need" 4.0 to their second generation which lists
SIZES: 2.8 | 3.6 | 4.6 | 5.3 | 6.0 | 7.2(Coming Soon)
Yes, a 7.2. Some beefy boys weren't making it on the 4.0, I presume. (Given how much I"ve gained this winter, I'm good for at least the 6 )
Also, windows are new. "The second big change is the addition of large windows in the new Wing-Surfer, creating a safer and more engaging ride for both beginners and advanced."

After watching Neil and Reggie yesterday, part of me thinks that wingsurfers will be the new Windsurfer (TM) in terms of ease to use and visually appealing. I think a lot of people will be captivated especially those who can use their existing paddle boards. The foil will be a bonus.
Were they able to foil with the wings yesterday?
Alan
Understandably no. I was foiling with an 8.5 - my Franken Aerotech. Neil felt like in one gust he was close but honestly there wasn't a white cap all day. If he had gotten up in that, I would have been super impressed.
He has the Duotone which has a fair amount of structure. He's up there with Hamdi for persistence so he'll get it sorted soon enough. He and Reggie seemed to have fun just tooling around anyway - being good sports.
To give you an idea of how unwindy it was - I was struggling to keep my kite in the air, and I heard something that sounded like a hammer pounding on a board. It was William pumping his 8.8 sail about half a mile out......

It's one of those old "negative outhaul" sails from the 90s. Having no outhaul tension means it rattles around - annoying as @*#$. I'm going to try rigging it with less downhaul tension next time. The top was flopping off yesterday in the whatever wind we had despite make the mast a hard top (520top/490 bottom). Once going, it was insane, however. If a cheap used Hypeglide 9 comes available, I will be sorely tempted.
Good thing you got a foil William so you don't to use really big sails any more......

Guilty as charged...

BTW - after looking at the new Naish wings I can see Robby is also admitting other brands have some good ideas. He copied Dutone's windows and the F-one "rib". The window seems like sort of a no brainer, it is much harder (from my experience) to sew a vinyl window in than just leaving it out. The f-one rib may be a good idea, or just an economy move as it allows use of as straight rather than airfoil shaped strut. Anyway, it seems now that these are going to all be simulacra's of simulacra's, except maybe for Slingshot, which seems to be the only brand that is using a inflatable rear wing stiffener.
