I would love to go but unclear at this point if I can get out of work in time (darn winter daylight hrs). If I can, will post again - will try OF 2ish.
Not seeing any other comments (potential interests) and possibility of rain thru 2pm, I decided to pass unfortunately - namely came to work without my gear, which would make it very impractical for me to go today.
I think Hamdi might have gotten this one right after looking at the radar. Looks like rain training in for quite some time today. If there looks to be any sort of break, I might make a quick run but otherwise a good day to stay inside with hot cocoa and get sh*t done.
Ace afternoon. Barret, Chris P and I. Probably 10-15 NW.
Probably wouldn't have gone but Barrett's voice on the phone was so sad. It was drizzling when I was driving up and even a bit when I got there - I felt like an idiot for going but it all worked out in the end. Sometimes you get lucky.
I second William’s report. 2nd thoughts driving up to Lake in drizzle, but once there, no more rain. The wind picked up as we sailed from light & gusty to pretty steady. Last half hour I was on a plane 90% of the time with 8.5m & 122 liter WS board. We had dinner at Cracker Barrel & avoided traffic driving home.
I had a good experimental session at Old Federal on 6.0 and new foil setup. I set it just like Langdon's: bigger wing, tall mast and fuselage flipped moving the wing back. Seemed to work.

How'd that 90cm mast work for you? Less foil outs? How is the view up there?

I assume you changed mast to fuselage connection point? Are you now at B or C position on the slingshot fuselage? What was the problem (sypmtom) before and how/what is better now, when you say 'seemed to work'?
Lucky? With wind / weather? Around here? Now you're making stuff (fairy tales?) up !?
Anyhow, glad you all had a good time.
You can't be lucky unless you try!
You hit the nail in the head, also rubbing salt to my wound ?. I can't try as often as I (maybe) wish, weekdays require more of a higher bet to justify trying to jump hoops at work - especially with winter daylight hrs. So, keep collecting gear, hoping all stars will line up once in a blue moon ?
I have to go to Charleston tomorrow.
Wish I could join y'all

I'm heading to Van Pugh & plan to join William there about 3PM.
