Well it was a fun day until I broke my newest mast.
Barrett’s windsurf towing service pulled me most of the way back in then Langdon swam out to help me the rest of the way.
A big thanks to both of them.
Sorry to hear that. Was it a SDM or RDM? High carbon%? I ask because I've never broken a RDM, but all my high carbon SDM's (~70% and up) eventually did break.

Decent turnout today. Maybe Barrett got some photos. Foilers foiled and Slappers slapped.
Cold start but was tolerable after lunch.
Hamdi was on the water from 8:30 until after lunch!
Double session day. Strong in the morning. Dropped off for lunch but picked back up around 1 or so.
I brought a camera with a telephoto lens, but the wind line was off shore a tad too far to get good photos. The morning session was great. And glad I went back out after lunch, or Alan would have been frozen trying to swim back. It's a good reminder to keep track of each other when the water's cold.
Fun sailing up with the keelboats that were racing. Used the GPS for only about half the day - accidentally left the voice call out on and it was really distracting but pretty helpful in figuring out what works and what doesn't. Good crowd with Hamdi and Langdon taking first shift. Alan, Barrett and Ed took middle and Steve Campbell from SC and me taking the post lunch.
Alan's swim is a reminder that this time of year you should be dressed to spend at least 30 minutes in the water. Glad it worked out for him and that Barrett and Langdon were around to pitch in.
So sorry to hear that Alan. Glad you got rescued without anyone getting hurt. I sailed alone practically all winter last year, if you call mine sailing during those first few months of getting into the sport (first time out with Chris P. was in Sept). Definitely a lesson as well. Hope all works out with warranty.
I aim to be there at 9
Noon for me at VP
Alan
Around noon.
When it get warmer.
Ed
I also plan to arrive at Van Pugh when it warms up a bit, around noon.
Barrett
Live report at VP.
Whitecaps, Shadow is <100 yards,
HamdiD is already on the water
Conditions where I am...

Less than a year old, hopefully I can get it warranty replaced.
Broke about 3 or 4” above the boom. At least it didn’t rip the sail.

Webguy was still flying when I left VP.

Another long swim. This one will give you the willys when the drone is looking for the windsurfer. His mast matches Alan's now!
Something to do with that broken mast as you're walking back home.
1.Toss it into the spokes of annoying 3 wheel scooters.
2. Impale annoying Drones with it.

You weren't the only one swimming Sunday. This deer decided to go to the Three Sisters Islands from Aqualand. Photo from FB

Someone just posted these on FB taken on this day. When you have to uphaul your keelboat.
Hopefully he has an Easy Uphaul
Probably about a thousand pounds worth hanging off the bottom.

Why couldn't he just water start it? (I guess that big balloon on it didn't help much.)
