Color me skeptical. I fear that's the wind under the thunderheads.
Edit: None of the other model runs are suggesting anything close. I feel like Charlie Brown right now with the graph playing the part of Lucy holding the football. I mean, I want to believe, but....
I am heading out of town in the morning so you can count on it. You guys should just go ahead and make a day of it at the lake. The drinks are on me. Just send me a bill.
I just spent 4 days building a kite and finished it today. Went to a park to test it. As soon as I got it launched I heard the sound of thunder and suddenly, raindrops kept falling on head.

You need to do you some talkin' to the sun
Glad you didn't do any science experiments at the park with a key. We'll have a drink on you, wind or no wind.

Did I really post the drinks are on me? Or did someone edit that in. I mean I might have, but then again, it would be pretty much out of character for me.

6 knots. That's more than half way to 10 knots, which is just a little short of 12 knots where the fun begins.
I'm going... if only for the free drinks on Randy.
Meanwhile at the Canadian Hole, another day of 90 degrees and 4.0 wind. Trip report coming soon. Here is a tip, if Langdon suggests a weekend trip, drop everything and go. That dude is good luck.
I wish what NitroJiber said was true.... unfortunately I have a track record of being able to pull into the parking lot of Van Pugh or Old Fed and magically kill whatever wind that was there.
I agree this trip was a lot of fun and without the need for neoprene.
I got in ~20 min of foil time yesterday right about noon... and another 2 hrs of slogging hoping for more.
Big honkin t-storm rolled through at 6p and had some tempting wind in its wake but a nearby lightning strike changed my mind.
Caught up to that storm on the drive home AND failed to check traffic for 985 construction adding 1 hr to get home. Ouch
I'm visiting my Dad in Erie, PA & keep some gear here. Wed. I sailed 7.5 m from sandy beach with sun & warm water.
Today was epic with up to 7 ft. waves 25 mph wind at Presque Isle. Got all my jibes & surfed waves. Surfer said rip along shore so strong - got washed ashore at Next beach. Sailed with Gary, Matt, Bernie & other guy who arrived after I went out.

It seems like foilers provide an extra safety measure. Lightning always strikes the highest path to ground. So if Chris or William are out foiling the rest of us should be safe in a t-storm. Thanks guys.

Which is why foils use smaller sails (and masts)... Checkmate.
Wait! What's THIS?!!

It's on now. 244º 13, g15
funny - calm at my house. Depends I guess where one is vs. the clouds. Looks nice off the LLSC lawn.
