Sailed Lake Allatoona from about 5:30-7:00 at Old 41. Was a nice steady 10-12 mph Southerly breeze with some gusts to thrown in here and there enough to get the Phoenix lit up on a 6.5. A very relaxing and serene evening sail. So good in fact, I plan to do it again tomorrow. I can also confirm that the water is shorty temperature. -Bill H.

thanks for the report Bill. I'll be joining you soon on the water, even thought about going today but am working too much.

I am thinking aobut going to VP after work if I leave early enough (3pm) with south winds I don't know if it is good idea, is somebody going? and where?
thanks
Ray
South is tough around here - aside from S going SW, it's the worst. For due south I would look at Tidwell or Vann's Tavern.
I sailed Old 41 today from about 12:30 to 2:30. 6.4 on 130 liter board. Pretty much due south, I'd say 10-20. Nice and warm, and good sailing - planning more than half the time. This was the kind of day that will keep me coming back to this mercurial spot for a few more years.

I also sailed Old 41 today from 3:30 to 6:00. 9.0 on a 188 liter F2 Phoenix. About the same wind as Randy reported earlier. I also sailed to the lake Acworth dam and back. That's the nice thing about having a center board. The wind seemed stronger but flukier near Dallas Beach where the lake narrows, leading to a lot of monkey sailing trying to adjust to the ever shifting wind direction and strength. Was a good workout.

P.S.-Had to look up "mercurial". According to Merriam-Webster: characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood.

'Monkey sailing'...lol.
I've not been out for about three weeks now. has the water level at Lanier come up in the storms over the last few weeks yet. I saw it had risen quite a bit since January already.
Lanier is up since Jan, but still quite low - around 14 feet down. Doesn't seem like its gained much in the past few weeks.

I had to look up mercurial too. I thought this was the pertinent part:
ORIGIN late Middle English (sense 3) : from Latin mercurialis ‘relating to the god Mercury,’
(Randy bein' tight with the other deities and all)
I couldn't go yesterday, anybody going today?
Got the builders in resodding my yard unfortunately (need a new rigging area !)
Nothing to add here really. I just noticed that I'm one post shy of becoming a "Windsurfing Deity" at 300 posts. Now I can be tight with all the other Deities; Webguy, Gene, Randy, Chris V., Jibes, and Speedsailor. I'm honored and humbled to be part of such a select group...

So how is the air up there windsurfing deity?
Barrett and I aren't too far away from joining your exalted ranks!
I'm gonna talk to webguy. I think we need to raise the deity threshold to at leas 500, else this place will go to the gods. (dyslexic I am.)
