10/28 was the day to get out there -- the reason we can't walk away from this often-infuriating sport. A beautiful weekend day -- sunny, warm -- and just honkin' all over. I tought y'all might be interested in the #'s I'm aware of. 13 were out at Lake Montecello above Columbia, SC. Over near Augusta, 12 windsurfers at Clarks Hill. (2 kiteboarders) I saw the report of 5 at Juliette. Along with the Lanier folks, that's a pretty good scene going on, I think.
Looking forward to the holiday party!

Chuck thanks for the Stats.
On Lanier (old Federal) last Sat 28 we had 9 kiters. World record for us in Lanier. I will posting some of the pictures later this week.
Any chance you have the names/emails of the kiters in Clarks Hill?
Rgds,
Emilio.
There were 51 competitors entered at the Fall Showdown in Fort Walton Beach Sat and Sunday with Formula, Longboard, Kona, Prodigy and Sport Fleets. Locals said it was the biggest regatta in 20 years in the Panhandle! There were big Kona and Prodigy Fleets, with the advantage probably going to Prodigy (but they had a 1 meter sail size advantage and most of the Kona's were chartered, so sailors were new to them). However, conventional longboards seemed to do the best.
