Last I checked, there was a lot of discrepancy among the various forecasts. If it blows, I'll go. I would probably go to Gault's unless it's looking better than I expect relatively early.
I'll probably go to Vanns Tavern, hopefully Monday & Tuesday. It'll probably start out East and swing southeast and then on around as the storm passes to our west, so I guess Vanns Tavern is the call for Lanier. We'll know more in the morning.
Oh, Gene's Consignment has a very nice 5.25 Aerotech Charge (2001, no monofilm) for $125 and a Brand New, never rigged 4.5 Naish Nalu for $215, and I'll deliver to Vann's Tarven (or maybe Van Pugh) for no extra charge. Check the web page at http://www.expage.com/genesconsignment/ for a complete list. Also, Windsense has in stock masts, booms, bases, extensions, etc. http://www.expage.com/windsense/
It looks like there might be more wind the farther east you go... I may go to Galts if it picks up. Anybody know places to sail in Alabama? (Weiss Lake is not too much farther from Vinings than Vann's). Maybe Lanier on Tues??
I ended up going to juliette, powered up on a 7.0 (6.0 for you skinny folks) until around 3 then a big storm blew through and took all the wind with it for the afternoon.
At Vanns Tavern we had a decent day, but not any hard wind, 8's to 7.2, it would come through in bands, didnt start raining until late in the day, a total of 7 sailors I think.
When I got there at about 3:00, Eddie was out on 6.5-ish and Jimmy on a 9.3. Both were complaining about being overpowered. I went out on a 6.5 along with Chris V. and Fred D. (on Eddie’s gear). Was underpowered until about 5:00 (the wind had definitely backed off). After a squall went through, the wind picked up to a nicely powered 6.5 for about an hour, along with rain. Chris P., Mark, Patrick, and one or two others showed up and were still there when I left at about 6:30.

Vans it is.
Reports? Tell us poor working slobs how great the wind was.
Forecasts say 10-20 S to SE w/ rain for Tuesday. I'm working on an excuse to get away from work early.
Gene,
Do you still have that extension? I'll try to connect with you this week.
