Windsurfers usually have an enormous capacity to rise above the difficulties and hardships of others. Instead of moping about the damage done by Cindy, I went to Galts thur pm. Was a nice 8.4 for about 1+1/2 hours. Sadly I was on a 7.0 for about half of it. But a nice day none the less. Here's hoping Dennis brings good winds here, and no harm elsewhere.

I might be game for it. The only thing is that with T-storms and rain, I plan to look at the radar screen first. If the rain appears more threatening on the Lanier side, I'll probably go to Galts. Hopefully it won't be everywhere at once. (I always say this:) I'll probably go early.

Has any body sailed Sweet Water on an easterly? It seems like there would be a lot less boat traffic to deal with, and it looks from the map like it might work.

I went there last year on a no wind day. It took another 25 minutes of travel time and seemed to be a rather small area of water. I don't remember the boat situation. Patrick might have more comments.
Oh yes, the forecast has ENE. If there's anything north, it will be offshore over there at Swtwtr. I'm just going to wait and see if things pick up later on today and hope for good conditions at Galts tomorrow morning.
I was thinking of SW for today, Galts or Lanier for sunday, depending on the rain situation. Since weather probably won't be very good on Sunday, boat traffic won't be that bad no matter where. Today, parking and boat traffic will probably be bad anywhere you go. I'll probably go the first place that it looks like has some wind.

Randy,
I think Swthnger is best suited for SW. However, Al sailed Swthnger about a NE. He had to launch from the boat ramp and that gave him a longer fetch. He said it was great.
I always have preferred Swthnger in the summer since it is less frequented by boats & PWC's. Yes, it is further out of the way, but that is why there are fewer boats.

Chris,
You thinking about heading down?

We were just in S. AL last week and there are still blue tarps from last summer's hurricanes. It looks like another hit for that area.
At least there aren't as many trees to fall this time.
Humm. Accuweather shows easterlies coming up after 2PM. I'll be going to Galts if the wind picks up...
