What's going on here? I have gotten planning conditions on my 9.6 the last 3 saturday mornings in a row and 4 of the last 5. You guys need to get some really big sails and wide boards......
Of course, now I've probably jinxed myself for then next several months. Anyway, it may just be a case of harmonic convergence (that's highly favorable alignment of the planets in english, I think.)
Sorry Randy I'm just bitter, I forgot you need to be around water to windsurf. I have a 10.3 thinking of getting a 15.9. Maybe I can use one of those poles they use in the olympics to vault with for a mast. Played a rond of golf yesterday though. To combat the no wind problem I have added a set of golf clubs to my trailor full of gear. So now if thiers no wind, I surf, no surf, I golf. Problem solved.
A 15.9 might be hard to find, but I then remember just a few years ago William ran a story on the LWA about "sightings of the mythical 13.0 meter sail." Nowadays they make sails up to at least 12.5 meters. I guess its called sail inflation.
My favorite is then the grad.iges avn model never shows more than 6 mph for the next 7 days. But, take heart, summer is drawing to an end, and windsurfing season will start again....
BTW William - I like your strategy. Right after I asked if windsurfing had been cancelled, we got some unexpected winds. Maybe this will work.
I did lessons Saturday at Clark Hill. Blew no less than 10 all day and msot of the day was 13 to 18. A heck of a full-on day for a beginners lesson. I almost got on a plane on a 5.2 on a HiFly Primo in one gust. I got home just worn out chasing students all over the lake (with my kayak paddle on another obard) and my wife said, "Oh, I'm so sorry about your lessons today. No wind at all. It was so still today." I swear -- she said not a puff. It was dead calm. Freaky.
after the Charlie let down, I think the wind has forgotten how to blow. It always ways looks windy in Athens, Greece though.

I just love it when the windspeed line on a model forecast looks like this:
05 06 05 04 01 01 01 01 01 04 03 03 02 03 03 05 05 07 05 04 05
the 07 probably is predicted under a thundershower.
