Tropical Storm #2 & new Tropical Depression

The tropics are picking up again, tropical storm Bonnie is in the Gulf and a new Depression is in the Caribbean. Maybe toward the end of the week it might be time for a road trip to the coast. The Marine forecast are not showing anything yet.

Anybody thinking about heading to the coast? when and where? The forecasts keep changing BUT I predict there will diffinately be wind somewhere at sometime, maybe. Probably should be heading down right now.

OK, based on the latest forecasts, I'm thinking of heading to the East coast tomorrow (thurs mid day), maybe to Jacksonville, Tybee or Charleston, based on what it looks like in the morning. Mexico beach area looks like wind Thurs only and Tarpon springs looks like THurs and Fri only, and as it's Wed nite, too late. But for the east coast it looks like Charlie may cross over to the Atlantic with lots of wind on Thurs afternoon, maybe too much wind on Fri and wind on Sat. I'm alittle concerned about Fri, though.

Anybody interested?

Report from Jacksonville, NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING. I didnt even rig a sail, they were forecasting 50+ mph winds and the highest we got was 13 per Danny's wind meter. BUT we did both have surfboards and the storm did produce some waves, so we worked on our surfing skills, which deffinately need work.

So how could you top off a weekend with a hurricane with out wind, how about a flat tire on the drive back. At least it wasnt raining.

And they're reporting more activity in the Tropics.

Gene,

What gives, I would think 13 is enough to sail?
