How to use less gear in a broader range of conditions. The Gorge quiver for 0-40+ Hint: it's about windsport and foils.

The NWS forecast looks favorable for Wednesday: Sunny, a high near 69. West wind 10 to 15 mph, gusting 20 mph. Please post if you can go. I have time to sail early afternoon at Van Pugh.
After being snowed-in at Boulder (4ft snow closed ski area), I’m looking forward to sailing at VP on brisk NW winds.
Planning to be there around 2pm, looks like size 8M
Will also bring Gen2 FD, Barrett has first priority!
Mine is in Tampa for another week or two, sı looking to borrow one today if possible.
Something that goes up to 30-32
Ideally europin RDM
I think I might also have a US cup base if that’s all I can find.
SDM would only work if you also have a 460 SDM mast I can borrow 😀
The weekend is just a warm up. Current forecast for the first of the week looks big. Stay tuned.
Or something similar

Weekend starting to look good. May take a light wind session Thur later in the day, too.
Looks like a couple of us are going to be at Hartwell tomorrow, if ya'll need to get out of the city!
The Fx now shows rain clearing & wind picking up from the NW with temp. In low 60’s. Please post if you can go later this afternoon.
Just to get some visibility, looks like there will be a longboard fleet, too. Mark Powell has added it to the Windsurfer LT calendar and some regular longboarders (eg Equipe).are expressing interest.
So, pretty much whatever you ride from wind/wing foil to classic longboard, there's a way for you to join the fun and be as competitive or relaxed as you desire
If the forecast holds , I’ll be heading up to VP Sunday ~ noon.
See you out there ,
-Stuart
I was just starting think it’d be ok to get in the water again…

Finally got a lot of personal stuff out of the way. Looking at an afternoon session at vanns Tavern. May break out a new toy. Zoom zoom.

After seeing pics of this, I'm doubling down on my bikes.
Yes, this is real. Very real.
Any clinical/mental health people here? What's the name for the condition when there is no wind and we start looking for gear to purchase to fill that void?
So many of us windfoil now, and with good gear, that we pretty much take it for granted. We've had more than a few intermediates quickly move up the hill of windsurfing skills by detouring via Foilville and avoiding the heavy tolls at Footstrap Gulch and Harness Junction.
But it wasn't always this easy. A magazine review of the AHD AFS-1 circa 2016. For those of us starting out then, the best advice given to us (by F4 to Chris V no less) was: "You're gonna get wet a lot." Yes. Yes, we did.
Explains why my best were always when being a jerk and doing a laydown around a "jibe mark" (I was looking at them and not towards the exit).
Nice video.
If a lack of a foil is keeping you from going to Jacksonville, post here or get in touch with Eduardo. Mark Powell of Shell Point would like to get some there.
Considering VP tomorrow 12n-2pm (storms/rain on forecast 3pm) - thoughts?
The folks just across the water from Galts on Allatoona are having an open house this weekend, March 9 from 12-5 pm. If you live in that part of Atlanta, maybe something to consider if you like sailing. I think Eric and Phil are members currently.
