I think 40F is my bottom limit even with sun and looks like tomorrow will come short of that. Unless that changes tomorrow am, I will opt for rowing I think.
I regret to inform anyone who is interested in going tomorrow that about an inch of 40 degree water was dumped on top of the lake today. I had to run an errand up to Gainesville this afternoon and it poured both ways.
Almost live report, Van Pugh 3:00, Lots of caps and parking.
Sunny, but around 30 degrees with windchill 20 degrees or lower. It feels a lot warmer at my house, out of the wind, in the sun, away from the water.
Wednesday late afternoon and Friday may be more sailable.

Didn't feel like 20 degrees to me yesterday, but I didn't see any whitecaps either. Strangely, I recall a few weeks ago it was actually warmer (upper 30's) but my hands were freezing even with gloves. I think the dampness of it has more to do with how cold it feels than anything.

When I hiked up a couple of hills out west, our guides were very reluctant to have us hike in clouds because of the pervasive humidity that made it very easy to get wet and chilled with temps hovering around freezing. Precip (which we had the day before) would only fall on the outside of your gear but humidity made you wet through and through. It's definitely a thing.
Tuesday was too cold to windsurf, so my wife & I got up early Wednesday and drove to Cataloochee, NC for an afternoon of downhill skiing. Conditions were perfect for our time on the slopes! However, clouds were moving in as we departed, with snow followed by rain the next day. Hope Friday shapes up to be a good windsurfing day.
Going to pass on this one

We may find out in April or May that I got cleared to windsurf a lot earlier than I let on. I just was looking for an excuse not to go...

Checking the updated forecast showing a high of 36F, that’s too cold for me, so I no longer plan on going.

We've let Lars down.

I am ok with letting Lars down
Texas is leaking. Did someone forget to put in the plug? It's 25 in Atlanta. I think even Lars would be cold at this point.
Windchill 16 @2:30p

Not all arctic cold weather windsport outings turn out exactly according to plan.

Yikes! It's fortunate the kiteboarders had a well-staffed rescue team standing by on short notice.
