I wonder if my tall rig Catalina will still be too tall to go under the new one, doesn’t look much taller from the water.

Driving across beside the new span, didn't seem any higher. I guess the sailboat lobby is a small one or maybe north enders wanted to keep the sailing riff raff out.
I like the chicane right before you hit the cement part of the bridge. That should add to the daily excitement.

Years ago when the lake was way down (don’t recall the elevation) we took my C25 tall rig right up to the bridge to try. The first piece of steel is an inverted U shape. Coming at it in a real shallow angle, the mast head gently bonked right into the U and I quickly veered off without getting stuck in it. I’m sure sailing up in there is dicey at best. Only reason I ever wanted to go to the other side was to dock right around the corner for the Elvis & Patsy Cline Show at the Lantern Inn. ‘Twas the stuff of legends.

I think the previous owner tried with mine, probably the reason I don’t have a masthead light.
