Drought. Today on the front page of the AJC. Believe it or not were are now (after just 2 months of below average rainfail) in a "mild" draught.
I'm not sure I believe it but I'm betting that Gene and other kiter types are hoping for the worst.

Personally, I think it's great that we are having a draught

I'm seeing the F word
Cold Front - Monday-ish, maybe a doubleheader on Tuesday?? Maybe something spooling up in the Gulf??
What drought? I rode dirt bikes yesterday and got poured on. Took shelter under a pine tree, no help. Totally wet ride back to the car.
Who says there is a drought the AJC and you believe what they say?

Charleston didn't get the drought memo either. I like Lanier lake levels to be a bit on the low side for windsurfing though.
I had to look it up, In British English, a draught is a current of air coming into a room or vehicle.

I think Randy is like the Sports Illustrated jinx for weather. Late December he mentions that Lanier has been looking a bit low - a week later we're seeing almost record lake levels.
Now he mentions the d- word and this morning I'm riding through puddles on my bike. (Don't worry, my rain bike has fenders.)
Please, for the sake of all of us, do not suggest that this fall will be breezy.
At least SI has the swimsuit issue. Your move, Randy.

These are what you need AJ, depending on the amount of rain.

Pic #1 looks like the brainchild of someone who doesn't cycle but has an idea that will revolutionize the sport (kickstarter is full of crap like that). First, if you are going to leave off fenders, in water like that you'll still end up soaking wet. Second, having a sail like that attached to your front wheel and handlebars means that during your typically breezy thunderstorm, steering is going to be a lot of fun - you'll likely end up in a ditch.
Pic #2 works for me even on a sunny day. Do you have a larger version? I think she has a custom steel frame and aero wheels. I'd like to look at the details. You know, for science...

AJ - I think picture one is 2016. Picture 2 is 1916. Kind of disproves your theory about progress.

Randy = pic one could be up to 20+ years old - at least the bike is. Frame and crankset design look suspiciously like circa 1992-94.
Edit: damn, I'm good: http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1994&Brand=GT&Model=Outpost&Type=bike
I'm studying the other pic for details. Will report more after some, um, closer examination.

Somehow, I think this won't end well. Just a hunch.
It wasn't that long ago (after a few big cane's hit the state) it was thought that hurricanes were more likely to make Florida a "target."
BTW - now that they name them after men, should half of them be called "Himicanes?"

What's next? Hericanes and Himicanes sharing bathrooms? Himicanes getting married to each other?

And now things are getting worse - we're are in a severe drought. Rainfall is now about 1 inch below normal for the year....

I suspect that the reason the lake is not dropping like a rock is that the areas to the south, including Florida
and their precious mercury laden musselsare apparently having plenty of rain. What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Maybe if Georgians didn't have small hands, we wouldn't be an inch....
