I just rode out to Van Pugh (12:45), William F is sailing a flat 5.7, there are caps everywhere, and its fairly warm. William said it started blowing around 11:30. I'm heading out.
I'm back home. It looked like a lull right as I was leaving but the 2 pm reading was 18-33, which is more like the story this morning. Got there around 11 and rigged my 7.7 according to what it looked like. However, the wind quickly came up and I rigged my 5.7. It came up even more but I refused to rig again and downhauled it floppy almost to the boom. I was pretty well powered until about 12:30 when it raged and I was getting blown off the water. I came in and Gene, Bill H., Chris P., Barrett and others were pulling up. The wind seemed to lull for a while- but seems to be back.
The water is cold. Why I picked today to be a kook on my jibes, I don't know.
